I was born in Christchurch and spent my childhood wandering the then rural and relatively unpopulated port hills near our home in Mt Pleasant.  My young days were spent playing outside exploring the rocky outcrops and looking for wee bugs, wondering at their tiny existence.  Lying on the hot ground, the dry grass prickly on my back, while watching the clouds roll by and chatting to my friends was a common occurrence.   All it takes now is hearing a Gray Warbler sing, and I’m instantly transported back to those uncomplicated days.

I haven’t changed much – I'm a bit older maybe ... and life is a lot more complicated  – but I still love watching our amazing big sky, fascinate over a good view, and although I’m not so interested in bugs, I do love watching Piwakawaka trying to catch them.

I bought my first camera in 2016 and started taking photographs to record our travels.  These are a few of my favorite images I've taken over the last eight years.
